SOCIAL MEDIA USE

Social Media is the broad term for internet-based tools used on PCs, laptops, tablets and smart phones to help people make contact, keep in touch and interact.

This trend can affect communications among managers, employees and even job applicants, how organisations promote and control their reputation, and how colleagues treat one another. It can also distort what boundaries there are between home and work.

It is also reported that misuse of Social Media by workers costs Britain’s economy billions of pounds every year because of issues such as, time theft, defamation, cyber bullying, freedom of speech and the invasion of privacy.

In the next coming months Safety Media will be launching their brand new Social Media Use Compliance & Soft Skills interactive e-Learning course. The 30-35 minute course will introduce the topic of Social Media and will provide you with information on various risks and benefits, identify ethical and legal issues associated with Social Media as well as distinguishing appropriate and inappropriate use of Social Media.

If you use Social Media as part of your job and want to learn how to use it effectively and responsibly in order to safeguard yourself and your organisation, this short interactive course really is ideal for you.
